Have you ever considered working in a remote or rural community as a teacher either in Australia or abroad? It may be possible to undertake your second semester fieldwork placement in a remote or rural Indigenous community.
The Faculty is committed to building respectful and equal partnerships with local, national and international Indigenous communities, working together to create a culturally safe environment where educators, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, will make significant contribution to the field of Indigenous education in teaching, learning, research and employment.
How to apply
In the first instance, please register your interest with Dr Zane Ma Rhea and Mr Henry Atkinson. They will discuss with you the options that might be available. You will be required to submit a short CV and a letter outlining your interests in this area. You are also strongly advised to undertake the first semester faculty elective unit EDF4513 Indigenous and Traditional Education in a Global World taught by Mr Henry Atkinson, Yorta Yorta Elder, and Dr Ma Rhea as a preparation for such a fieldwork placement.
You may also be eligible to apply for a Travelling Scholarship as a part contribution to your expenses.
