Biography

Greg Hurworth is a composer, conductor, researcher and teacher. He studied Music at York University, and came

to Australia in the 1970s. He holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Monash, and has particular interest in

Australian indigenous music and Chinese music. He was Director of Music at Caulfield Grammar, Wheelers Hill for

eight years, and has been a lecturer at Monash since 1988. He has conducted a number of choirs in Melbourne

which have performed his own compositions and arrangements, as well as a broad repertoire of western music.
