About ARECE conference

The Australian Research in Early Childhood Education Conference (ARECE) originally started at the University of Canberra in 1993. The original conference convenor was Marilyn Fleer; the conference is still under the leadership of Marilyn. The vision of the conference was to build a community of practise and research among peers in early childhood professions. It was also created to provide a space in which to share our research endeavours. ARECE aims to promote existing, ongoing and future research.

The intent of the conference is also to promote students taking on an active professional role within the conference. The purpose is also mentoring, so students may imagine themselves as presenters in the future. The conference also aims to give students the opportunity to present their studies at the conference.
