Professional Learning - Research in the Faculty of Education

This strength’s research aims to improve professional education practice and to refine understandings of teaching and learning. It facilitates the articulation of curriculum innovations into teaching and learning. Researchers’ interests cover a wide range of current issues in professional learning. These include curriculum development, enhancing professional practice (e.g., reflective practice), teacher education, teacher research and the knowledge base of teaching, as well as education policy and approaches to education in diverse settings. Research is directed towards enhancing learning about teaching across a range of programs and curriculum areas (e.g., from science through to SOSE and music) and in different educational institutions and communities.
