Which Sport and outdoor recreation program is right for me?
The following options will help you choose the right program to suit your background and career aspirations.
Professional placements and fieldwork experience
Sport and outdoor recreation professional placements and fieldwork take place in a range of settings and include wilderness expeditions, sea kayaking, canoeing, and coastal activities such as snorkelling. Fieldwork and professional placements are designed to reinforce and develop the knowledge and understanding you gain in the classroom - so what you learn is put into action.
You will also have access to the new $12.8M Monash Peninsula Activity and Recreation Centre (MPARC) which is home to a world class fitness centre, sport and fitness testing facilities, basketball, netball and indoor soccer courts.
If you choose to combine sport and outdoor recreation with a bachelor of education, you will gain practical teaching experience throughout the course. The Faculty’s partnerships and placements office organise each placement. The professional placement program draws the theoretical components of your studies together with the practical aspects of teaching, giving you first hand teaching experience in the classroom before you graduate.
